Pizza Casserole

Have you ever wanted to turn your Pizza into a Casserole? No? Well I have, and I'm going to share with you the ingredients and directions to make one of the best tasting casserole's you've ever eaten.

This casserole will take approximately 30 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook, so be sure that you allow yourself around 1 hour to make this great tasting meal.

The ingredients for this casserole are as followed:

  • 2 cups uncooked egg noodles (or any other noodles you prefer)
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef (grass fed for health), or you can use sausage if you prefer
  • 4 tablespoons milk (lower fat is best for health)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (lower fat is best for health)
  • 16 ounces pizza sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni sausage
After you get the ingredients ready, then add the Noodles to some boiling water so you can get that started. This is a good time to pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees so that it's ready when you're finished getting the meal prepared.
Now it's time to start browning the ground beef over a medium to high heat. I suggest cooking the beef with your garlic, pepper and onion (if you use them). I prefer to use a larger skillet as you will need to mix in the rest of the ingredients after you drain the fat from the skillet.
Once you've drained the fat from the skillet it's time to stir in the noodles, sauce, milk and pepperoni (mix well!).
Now it's time to get this all into a casserole dish. A 2 quart dish should be sufficient. You will want to bake this at 350 degrees for around 20 minutes, then pull the casserole out so you can then add your Mozzeralla. Once you've got the cheese on top, then bake it for another 5-10 minutes longer.
This is a great family meal and you can make it even healthier by getting extra lean beef (grass fed), low-fat Mozzeralla, low-fat milk, etc. I hope you try this out and let me know how it tastes!
