How to Fix Wrinkly Lips

The lips are one of the most fragile parts of a person’s body. One of the reasons that they become wrinkled is because of continuous smoking, as well as from being in the sun, for many years.

Growing older also contributes to making the lips wrinkled and even dry. They will no longer have their lively and colored appearance as a person ages. When someone’s lips become wrinkled and dull, it is normal for that person to want younger looking lips.

There have been many different medical techniques created to achieve younger appearing lips. They can bring back the life of your lips by using natural medications to make them look just as they did when they were younger.

Aging causes the presence of minor, vertical lines directly above the upper lip, and they can even make the crooks of a person's mouth appear droopy. Wrinkles are the result of a drop in collagen content. The over usage of the muscle that shapes the lips, the orbicularis oris muscle, is also another reason for wrinkles. The over using of the muscle can happen from different habits, such as smoking, drinking out of a straw, whistling, and so forth.

UVA and UVB rays can also cause damage to someone’s skin, because of the damaged natural collagen, which also causes wrinkles. There are also other causes that are unavoidable, such as dental shapes and genetics. Whatever the cause of a person's wrinkled lips, they can be improved even if not cured totally.

Applying sunscreen to the lips so that they are protected from the sun can reduce wrinkles. Another strategy is to talk to a doctor about dermal fillers, in order to reverse the effects of wrinkles from aging. This procedure has gels inserted right into the wrinkles, in order to fill them out. The skin will smooth out because of the “rising” of the wrinkle space. Attempting a chemical peel is also a great way to help smooth out tiny, fine wrinkles.

The chemicals in this procedure burn the top layer of skin, getting rid of the wrinkles along with other damaged skin. Dermabrasion is the process of sanding away the top layer of the skin around the mouth.

Using this technique can cause a color change in the skin, so talking to a doctor before going through with this process is required. There are also many other anti-aging wrinkle creams on the market. They all claim to do great things, and to improve a person's appearance, but people can never really be sure until they shell out their hard earned money to try the product.

Before making a purchase, it is advisable to read reviews on many of the products, and to research them closely.

Wrinkles are something every woman is self-conscious about, especially when she is becoming older. Nowadays, however, wrinkles are able to be smoothed out, and appear younger thanks to many improved techniques and procedures. The simple act of applying sunscreen, or even quitting smoking, can reduce the amount of wrinkles someone receives. In fact, drinking from straws and water bottles can cause wrinkles, too. So remember that the next time you purchase a product that causes you to "pucker" up your lips over and over while drinking your favorite beverage!

This is not to say that you can't drink from a straw or small mouth container. You just have to learn how to drink without puckering your lips too much. Don't worry if others laugh, those laugh lines won't keep them any younger ;)

While there's not a lot of natural remedies that can take these wrinkles away, there are specialized treatments that you can inquire about. Just be careful of the doctor you choose, as you do not want to walk out looking like a "trial run" for that product or service due to a bad doctor.

In the end, collagen will deplete and skin will age. There's not much you can do about that, so don't go running out and buying too many unproven products. Eat healthy foods such as Avocado to help with anti-aging, stay away from too much alcohol and other "poisonous" products that will cause your body to age a bit faster.

Work out if and when you can and try not wearing too many beauty products with a lot of natural chemicals, too.

Let's go over some of the tips again:

  1. Try to avoid too much sun. Always wear sun screen when needed and try to stick to shady areas when having to sit in the sun for long periods of time.
  2. Avoid unhealthy foods and replace them with more raw, healthy foods and drinks.
  3. Avoid cigarettes and smoke
  4. Avoid alcohol when possible. It's great to have a good time, but remember that alcohol is a POISON. It breaks your body down and ages you. It damages your heart and liver, which are 2 vital organs.
  5. Try to avoid wearing beauty products that have chemicals.
  6. If you have to drink out of water bottles or "small mouth" bottles, try not to "pucker" your lips too much. Try to avoid straws if you can, or do the same as with water bottles.
  7. If you decide to go with a medical procedure be sure to do your research. Once you go that route it will be hard to reverse the issues you may have after all is said and done. A lot of women look older than they are after having these procedures, so proceed with caution!

I do hope this article helps you in your search to fix wrinkly lips!
