5 Ways Social Media Can Increase Your Profits

Social Media Has So Many Uses

In the modern era, an increasing amount of people are trusting social media to give them the best deals on their favourite activities and purchases. This article aims to give you helpful advice and handy tips on how to maximize your profits through your social media pages.

How can social media help you?

Number One:

Encourage repeat visitors - keep your page up-to-date with the latest news, photos and videos of your business/industry. There is no point in having 4,000 followers or likes if you don't remind them why they went to the effort of finding you in the first place. Keep updates professional but friendly. Make sure people want to share your content with their friends, word of mouth is unbeatable in the world of marketing. Maintaining a good relationship with previous customers will ensure return custom and very good publicity on your business' page.

Number Two:

Reward Loyalty - We've all seen (and partaken) in one of the many loyalty schemes on offer. Buy four cups of coffee, get a fifth free, bring a friend and you go free.... the list for inspiration is long! These types of offers work well, hence why there are so many of them. If your company doesn't currently have one of these, set one up. If you're not entirely keen, create one that's exclusive to previous, loyal customers (i.e. those subscribed to your newsletter).

Number Three:

Offer Social-Media-only deals to encourage more spending per transaction - Create exclusive offers for you social media community. This can include discount codes and coupons, for example for delivery on orders over $100 or $20 off a $200 purchase. Set yourself a goal to measure this promotion's success, i.e. increase each transaction by 10%. Perhaps use your Facebook page to offer a discount on multiple services when bought together, then use your Twitter account as a call to action and a reminder close to the offer's deadline.

Number Four:

Build up an online community - As mentioned before, keep your pages updated with news of deals and promotions - however don't overload your customers with this. Encourage chat and interaction between different clients and yourself. There's nothing worse than going to a company's social media page and seeing constant deals and promotions with no client interaction or off-topic chat! A good ratio to stick to is 20% company-related updates and promotions and 80% relevant third-party and fan engagement.

Number Five:

Take bookings online through Facebook - With an integrated online booking system, reach new potential clients through social media, then harbor that free promotion by taking money directly through your social media. This cuts out the added effort of a customer leaving their current browsing direction and clicking straight through to booking with you!
