If you've ever traveled, then you know there's a lot of planning that you need to do. The more complicated your trip, the longer ahead of time you've got to plan things out. Especially if you are going somewhere overseas with your family.
This can be a nightmare, and you'll need to know everything down to the very last detail. This is why plenty of people use travel agencies to help, and it's also another reason why people go on organized tours.
It takes out the headache of traveling, so you can just let somebody else plan everything, and you can just enjoy the scenery. Of course, this means you're going to be restricted on where you can go, and what you can see.
For some, this is an acceptable trade off that lets you have fun without stress. For others, however, they need to plan everything on their own. So depending on where you are going, who's going with you, and how long you'll be gone, you'll have different levels of planning.
Naturally, if you're taking the whole family along, then you've got to make some plans well in advance. The more detailed your trip, the longer ahead you'll have to plan. For example, if you are going to an amusement park halfway across the country, you'll need to book hotels, get tickets to the park, and find the best flight. This can require several months of planning and research.
On the other hand, if you're taking a road trip to a national monument, then all you really need to worry about is the hotel at your destination. This can be taken care of with a simple phone call. Sure, you might need to spend a couple days figuring out what to bring, but really all you've got to do is load the kids and gear in the car, and get going.
If you're single, and traveling with your buddies or traveling alone, then the less you plan, the better. Exploring things on the ground is half the fun. Just booking a flight, and maybe the first night in a hotel is really all you need. If you're going to a place that has plenty of hotels, all you really need to do is just show up.
Take Vegas for example. Sure, you can book your room weeks in advance, but plenty of people have the most fun just by showing up. If you're thinking about going to Vegas soon, then you should try this.
